Young @ Heart
The mission for this ministry is to reach out to adults with seniority and focus of being active and loving one another as well as reaching out to adults in our community to share God's love.
I will be your God throughout your lifetime -- until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.(Isaiah 46:4)
"Young @Heart" Ministry - Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS is a ministry designed to encourage and support adults 55 years and above.
- A covered dish meal and program is scheduled the second Tuesday of each month alternating with a 10:30 a.m. meeting one month and a 6:00 p.m. meeting the next month.
- A variety of programs and themes are planned with volunteers from this age group. The introduction and election of officers were instituted in 2018 that help with the planning and promoting this ministry to church members and community.
- Months with 5th Tuesday, a "Mystery Trip" is scheduled to enjoy a fun day trip not knowing anything about the events for the day until we arrive at our destination.
- A longer trip (usually four days) is offered on a sign up basis to travel and sight see to various places and events.
There are ways to let people know you love them even if you can’t go in nursing homes. We have some ladies from PHBC that are visiting different people with their mask on and signs that let them know they are loved.
